My lab operations knowledge stems from a unique understanding of multiple stakeholder groups: executives, principal investigators, equipment operators, equipment manufacturers, service providers, procurement, facilities and finance. I advise biotechs, CROs and big pharma on logistical, tactical and strategic approaches to lab operations. This includes aspects of instrumentation services, enterprise asset management and equipment lifecycle, with a view towards optimizing both the assets and the associated operations. Optimized Assets. Optimal Operations. Many asset management programs concentrate primarily on the delivery of service work (PM, Calibration, Break/Fix). The result is often a program that manages the work performed against the assets, but not the assets themselves. In my conversations with clients, I seek to reframe the typical maintenance-centric approach into a viewpoint that includes asset performance and reliability.
