LABEL OF THE ELEMENTS city art for all the cities in your heart Label of the Elements is a new brand of city mementos for design minded people. The brand is curated by travel journalist Chris Muyres and graphic designer Willemien Ebbinge. We both are enthusiastic city dwellers who had trouble to find well designed, intelligent, sustainable souvenirs on our city trips. So we decided to design such mementos ourselves, starting with postcards and posters. Crazy about cities When we showed the first designs to friends, colleagues and family, we noticed they appeal not exclusively to travelers. People where crazy about the designs for all kinds of reasons. Because a poster showed their home town for instance. Or because they worked, grew up or fell in love in a cities. Or because they dreamed of visiting a specific city or running a marathon there. About the design Our instantly recognizable designs are based on the periodic table of elements from chemistry. We arranged every city in the world in a similar, colorful system that links them all together. Each city has it's own letter code and is surrounded by interesting data, just like the chemical elements in the periodic table. A nice difference is that we have added attractive pictographs and some fun to the numbers. City biographies From our infographic designs you learn about the location of each city (upper right corner), typical food (upper left corner), a famous landmark or monument (lower right corner) and a surprising local fact (lower left corner). Every design in a mini-biography of a city, so to speak. With our designs, you can collect and combine cities on your wall to tell the story of your live.
