Laboratory For Data Mining And Intelligent Systems

LOUISE – the Laboratory for Data Mining and Intelligent Systems brings together researchers from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, as well as external collaborators, who focus on the development and application of artificial intelligence to address social and business challenges. The laboratory participates in scientific projects such as SIMON, which explores explainable artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics methods, as well as in industry-oriented projects aimed at improving energy efficiency, business sustainability, and public service delivery, such as OptiSolarAI. In doing so, LOUISE connects scientific research with applied innovations that generate tangible benefits for the economy and society. Through a multidisciplinary approach and strong ties with practice, LOUISE strives to promote the broad application of artificial intelligence and provide education on AI. Members of the laboratory organize workshops on the use of AI in education and business, helping educational institutions and companies recognize the potential and responsibly use artificial intelligence. In this way, the laboratory contributes to the development of an AI-literate society, fosters innovations that serve the public good, and strengthens the position of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics as a center of knowledge and excellence in the fields of artificial intelligence and sustainable development.
