Lafferty Media Partners
Lafferty Media Partners LLC (LMP) was started in December 2002 to continue some of the creative projects that had been incubated at digital television production/distribution firm Zoom Culture (ZCTV), where Marty Lafferty served as President & CEO and as Executive Producer of its major television properties and feature film “Spring Break.” ZCTV’s slate of TV programming, developed during Lafferty’s tenure, included the weekly half-hour program series “Hip-Hop Nation” done as a co-production with NBC and distributed over broadcast television in 100 markets; biweekly program series “Playground Earth” distributed by Fox Sports International to 25 million viewers; primetime special “Women in Comedy” with presenting sponsor Marshalls and national broadcast partner PAX TV; among others; and ZCTV co-branded / cross-promoted streaming video web-channels for all of its properties. LMP, where Marty Lafferty currently serves as Managing Partner, had as its first two projects, the securing of a $1.8 million National Parks Service production services agreement for collegiate videographers and overseeing the conversion of the Distributed Computing Standards Coalition (DCSC) through the formation of the Distributed Computing Industry Association (DCIA), for which LMP continues to provide management as well as creative services. LMP consulted on program reformatting and viewership retention tactics to capitalize on MSNBC’s coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom. LMP also obtained cable distribution agreements for pilots of Guerilla Productions’ “The Wrench” weekly half-hour. In addition, LMP developed the screenplay and strategy for development and distribution of an in-development animated feature-length film based on “St. Mulligan.” LMP’s DCIA projects have included the 2015 “Internet of Things (IoT) Marathon Webcast,” an 88-video segment HD video production viewed by more than industry leaders; the 2015 DCIA website and mobile app; a $2 million digital music company launch with live concerts, television, and streaming promos; the weekly online newsletter/video DCINFO; and numerous trade-show conferences and their associated multimedia presentations ranging from standalone regional events to major global conventions and expos. Marty Lafferty was professionally trained as a Producer-Director, specializing in Film & Television, earning his MFA at the Yale School of Drama. His prior work has included, for NBC, overseeing all aspects of the first multi-channel television presentation of the Summer Olympics; for Turner Broadcasting, the reformatting and relaunching of CNN2 as Headline News, and the creation and launch of TNT; as well as serving in senior programming executive roles at Microsoft TV, FutureVision, and Tempo TV. He has been recognized with numerous awards including the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) President’s Award for his three-years of work mounting the stage productions and producing the telecasts of the cable industry’s annual national programming awards show with Dick Clark Productions.
