Lamarr Institute

As an international AI center of excellence, the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence focuses on value-based research, on development of powerful, and at the same time trustworthy as well as resource-efficient artificial intelligence. Our goal is to establish internationally competitive research that sustainably strengthens Germany and Europe as a leading location for research, teaching and technology transfer in AI. The Lamarr Institute is supported by the Technical University of Dortmund, the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, and the Fraunhofer Institutes for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS in Sankt Augustin and for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund. It is institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, as part of the German government's AI strategy.
