LAMSA motto:"By the youth to the youth, for a happier and healthier life". LAMSA (Lebanese Association of Medical services for Addictions) is an NGO (registered #1249) founded in 2013. LAMSA fosters evidence-based medical education and awareness of addiction, mental health, co-occurring physical health and wellbeing issues while advocating for the de-stigmatization of those diseases. LAMSA also advocates for the implementation of effective and affordable strategies that systematically screen children and teens for psychological, mental, environmental and other risk factors for addiction and behavior, with the aim to promote a sustainable and healthy community for the future. LAMSA vision for a healthier generation of the future, is the implication of all health care professionals from all specialties (Hospitals, Clinics, Schools…) in mental illness and addiction, by implementing in their daily practice the systematic screening of risk factors of addiction: psychological factors, mental illness and so on, in particular among youth, in order to prevent behaviors by treating the underlying causes.
