Laurence Kaye Solicitors specialised in media, e-commerce, intellectual property, internet and technology law. The business of the firm was acquired by Shoosmiths LLP in 2013. Laurence Kaye was one of the first lawyers in the UK to advise on Internet law and has for over a decade combined cutting-edge legal work on digital media projects with strategic and policy-related work in the field of copyright and online law. He was a copyright adviser to the European Publishers Council and from December 2008 to August 2010, served as a member of the Copyright Expert Panel appointed by the UK Strategic Advisory Board for Intellectual Property Policy, which advised the UK Government on IP policy. The firm had deep media industry knowledge and involvement which it uses to deliver expert innovative and effective legal solutions for clients.
