Why fight the mic? Use a Lav Magnet! As a 30 year audio engineer and a/v technician/room operator in the corporate engagement and trade show industries, I’ve used all the tricks for clipping a lavalier on t-shirts, blouses and dresses. We’ve all been there. You’re operating a room and in walks your presenter. Maybe it’s a keynote speaker in a t-shirt and jeans or in full business mode wearing a dress with no neckline, no belt or belt line. Sure they look great and they’re pumped up and ready to deliver the presentation like rock stars! The only problem is. where to place a lavalier? Clip the mic at the neckline and you’re battling sound that is muffled and throaty. How about the belt pack? You can dig into the back of the dress and clip it to the bra, leaving the belt pack uncomfortably grinding into the back. I got tired of these situations. I started searching for solutions and very few were available. The few things I did find were pricey and not convenient to use. So I decided to sit down at the drawing board and develop a solution. What I came up with is simple and fast to use. It requires no changing of your mic clip or belt pack clip. Simply place the Lav Magnet and Beltpack Bar in the desired location, then attach the lavalier and belt pack to the Lav Magnet and beltpack bar. It’s that simple.
