THE LAYRITE PHILOSOPHY Honoring the traditions of our fathers, and their fathers before them, we tap into the philosophy of the traditional barbershop to make fine grooming products for today's man. Conjured from an era when men took pride in their appearance, then adapted for today's man, our grooming products are made as patiently, carefully and purposefully as a good haircut in a barbershop. Why? Well, because traditions matter. Our mission is pretty simple. Like a man, Layrite products are strong when they need to be, and gone when they don't, washing out as easily as it goes on. And like a man, our products are always consistent, always working to the best of their ability and Always Laying Right. ABOUT LAYRITE. Layrite products are made by barbers for barbers. This makes the men who use them the kind of men who are always "in the know." In the founder of Layrite opened the doors to their first Classic Barbershop. The rockabilly themed shop was built to emanate a man’s sanctuary of time-gone-by. The majority of customers who sat themselves down came in with greasy heads. At the time, all pomades were made with grease. And grease, as you can imagine, is not easy to wash out, let alone cut. These greasy dilemmas inspired him to make a better pomade. We took all the elements we loved about traditional pomades, and we used them as the basis of our own formula: a pomade that easily washed out using nothing but water. After months of research and experimentation, he started using it in his shop. And when one of his patrons exclaimed how it was they only pomade that helped his hair "lay right," he decided to call it Layrite Deluxe Pomade. This was around And then our patrons started asking to take some home with them. Since then, every product that Layrite creates has been produced with the patrons feedback in mind. And since Layrite products are made by barbers, it's pretty easy for us to do.
