In the 20th century, the manufacturing sector learned how to run lean. Standardizing the work, making problems visible, and improving every day. Waste is reduced. Throughput rises. Profits grow. Today, most civil contractors are still rife with inefficiency. Lacking systems and processes. Inconsistent quality. Blaming the uncontrollables. They haven’t learned to run lean.
