LEARNING IMPROVEMENT SERVICE LTD is an educational management consultancy company specialising in all areas of quality improvement for colleges and independent learning providers. Founded by ex-HMI Phil Hatton who was twice graded outstanding as a college manager, author of six textbooks, the first NVQ and was Ofsted national adviser for further education with a specialism in quality improvement and apprenticeships. Phil set up the Adult Learning Inspectorate 'Good Practice Database' and few people have his depth of knowledge about the current good practice that exists in the sector. We specialise in helping established providers to make sustained improvements and can advise new providers in setting up to do the right things to get through Ofsted Inspection. Ofsted and the FE Commissioner have made positive comments in reports about the quality of self-assessment reports facilitated by the LIS. Once you have mastered the LIS approach to your SAR and QIP it will impact positively for years to come on your provision. The LIS can offer governance support, and where they have done Ofsted have described it as being 'highly effective'. Once you have worked with the LIS Phil will support you through your inspection.
