Leather Research Laboratory is a center of excellence dedicated to leather testing in USA. This laboratory came into existence in 1924 and has been in existence for well over ninety years. When ensuing U.S. President Herbert Hoover officially opened the "Tanners Lab", he stated it to be "the most important step made by any of our trade associations in the direction of scientific research for the benefit of an entire industry." There is no other independent testing facility in the U.S. that possesses the focused expertise and experience that we offer. Leather research laboratory is designed and constructed specifically for modern leather performance testing and research. Our specialized in-depth knowledge of applied leather technology enables us to interpret test results in terms of the practical implications for Quality, Product Development, Consumer Safety programs and Marketing.
