Leeke Associates is a specialist civil/geotechnical design consultancy with broad experience of permanent and temporary works designs and familiar with the special constraints of the rail industry. Works typically involve: • Surveys & Investigations: Examination and assessment of earthworks, drainage and structures including design and procurement of ground investigations, CCTV and topographical surveys • Feasibility Studies & Geotechnical Assessment: Interpretation and analysis of ground conditions to establish soil parameters and ground models to identify failure mechanisms and develop solutions to ground related problems • Options Reports & Preliminary Designs: Assessment and presentation of practical solutions based on analytical design, experience and collaboration with contractors • Detailed Design & Construction Drawings: Detailed design of embankments, cuttings, foundations, retaining walls, ground anchors, soil nails, reinforced earth and drainage works • Temporary Works Designs: Design of enabling works including working platforms, crane foundations, scaffolding foundations, excavation support, access roads, catch fences, protection of services, formwork foundations, trenching support and drainage works • Category 3 Checks: Independent assessment of third party designs • Mineworkings: Investigation of ancient mineworkings/shafts including assessment of risk and recommendations for treatment All design work is carried out in-house by experienced engineers and CAD technicians in accordance with engineering design and assurance procedures set out in Eurocodes, British Standards and industry specific guidance including Network Rail Company Standards. We operate a quality management system which is formally documented and externally audited under the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS). We have achieved the highest ‘five star’ rating attainable by completing the audit without non-conformances for at least two years.
