Leenaards Memory Center Chuv

The Leenaards Memory Center (CLM), under the direction of Professor Gilles Allali, specializes in the care of patients with memory disorders and other cognitive function impairments. Its clinical activities are notably integrated within the Alzheimer Program established by the canton of Vaud. In addition to its clinical activities, the CLM actively participates in academic activities related to the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne. Research and teaching are at the core of its activities. In the field of research, the CLM stands out for its clinical studies on pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, the identification of new biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, and relies on the latest advances in neuroscience, particularly in neuroimaging. Partnerships are at the heart of its collaborative approach. The CLM maintains close ties with the University Hospitals of Geneva, the University of Geneva, EPFL, as well as with international centers of excellence in Europe and the United States. In terms of teaching, the CLM is not limited to courses for students in medicine, biology, and neuroscience. Every week, it organizes an academic colloquium to explore the challenges posed by neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, in collaboration with the Geneva Memory Centre, it offers an annual Lémanique Course on Dementia. On the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day, the CLM organizes an event for the general public to raise awareness and provide information. As a multidisciplinary center, the CLM benefits from the expertise of a diverse team including neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, neuropsychologists, nurses, nursing assistants, engineers, biologists, computer scientists, and researchers. This wealth of expertise is supported by a dedicated administrative team, which contributes to the effectiveness of its activities.
