Lemon-Dial Project
LEMON will provide a new versatile Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) sensor concept for greenhouse gases and water vapour measurements from space. LEMON aims at developing a Lidar emitter for space applications to monitor greenhouse gases and water vapour. LEMON will improve the accuracy of climate change analysis. After instrument set-up and validation, CO2, CH4, H2O isotopes measurements will be performed through airborne demonstrations. Roadmaps and preliminary experiments towards space operation will be also developed. LEMON technology relies on a multispecies Lidar emitter benefiting from versatility, efficiency and increased functionality- 1 instrument for CO2, CH4, H2O, HDO measurements => 1 single maturation process towards space- Possible simultaneous CO2+H2O or H2O HDO measurements. The LEMON consortium is composed of 8 partners from 4 different countries. The consortium includes academic experts and research centres, along with SME partners. It has full expertise at Earth Observation technologies, from receiver, data acquisition, instrument control and versatile emitter.
