Wedding and Portrait Photographer working in Cornwall, Devon and Worldwide. Hi, I’m Leo, I’m a wedding photographer who lives in the beautiful county of Cornwall. I live with my family in the Cathedral city of Truro and have been a professional photographer since 1997. While my passion for photography may have begun outside of weddings, I found the white dress and dark suit subject matter too much to resist! When I began my forays into wedding photography, the ‘traditional approach’ and associated formulae seemed the safe and appropriate direction to go in. I quickly learned that this was not in my nature due to my decidedly ‘unclassical’ photographic background born from a career in photojournalism and eventual role as photo editor for an action sports magazine at a London publishing house. I travelled the globe, learning to observe narratives unfolding from in amongst the protagonists and it is this that influences my wedding photography today. My methodology for weddings is simple: I won’t get in your way. I will let the day flow and document the moments that happen spontaneously without asking you or your guests to pose. Those laughs, tears of joy, hugs, kisses, confetti throwing, champagne-cork popping, cake cutting, first dancing, register signing, saying I doing, welly wanging* … capturing these moments in time is what I love to do and it gives me a sense of fulfilment that can’t be matched. So what you can expect from me these days is an off-the-cuff, organic approach to wedding photography that not only disobeys the rules, but feeds them into the shredder and uses them as confetti! My love of shooting people in all situations has given me the inspiration for the wedding environment as the perfect place to be.*(yes there was welly wanging at the last wedding I photographed)
