Silver and Gold Wire Jewelry. “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, It turned into a butterfly”-Unknown This quote has become the spirit of my jewelry business. In 2003, while recovering from cancer, I was fortunate to participate in a free art therapy class for cancer patients at The Creative Center in New York City. I learned the basic weaving technique that I use today. And since then, I have created more than 100 types of patterns and shapes. My business was born with the "Hope of a Butterfly" to start life anew. So it is an important mission for Liane By Design to keeping paying the Hope forward by making a difference in the community by sharing art, design and a big heart to heal and inspire. My designs are made by hand using a wood loom. I use silver and gold wire. Stones are strung on the wire and dropped into position as it is being made and then shaped into the final design. It is a unique technique that combines textile weaving and metal work and creates jewelry with a strong yet delicate look. An aesthetic of Ying Yang
