Liberating Cinema

Liberating Cinema is a platform for film, education and social change with a focus on the cinema and filmmaking of those who have been historically underrepresented on screen and who do not have much access to arts education. Our flagship program is a youth film production workshop, an intensive introduction to filmmaking that ignites the imagination. We show participants how to use the tools and equipment with diverse examples from local films and world cinema. They decide what story to tell, the visual approach, and how to work together as a production team.
