Library Development Forum Ldf

A well developed society can not be imagined without the development of library. it directly helps in quality education, to bring positive social changes and agricultural/economic/development. Library is a reliable source of information for the community. It has an important role to play for sustainable development, protection of human rights, peace and community friendship and conflict management. It also helps and supports for self employment and life-time studies. In other words a library is a life-time school. Library also can play an important role as community development, resource and local research center. An effort is made to establish Library Development Forum in view to take some institutional steps to develop, diversify and safeguard libraries in Nepal. Specially, the library will be working in coordination with the public and community libraries and other types of libraries. The Library Development Forum does not only serve, it also works in bridging the gap between public and community libraries. It will play a vital role as a common mechanism, thereby contributing, diversification and safeguarding of all types of libraries. Mostly, our target areas will be rural areas. Our aim is to work on the basis of the theme, “One Village, One Library and One Family one member”. The library targeted to establish a well-equipped and with well-stocked books with modern facilities such as online library.
