Light House Project
The Light House in downtown Raleigh was owned by Deah Barakat, one of the victims of the Chapel Hill Shooting in February 2015. Now we use the house to further his legacy. Deah, along with his wife Yusor and sister-in-law Razan spent almost every spare moment in service of their community, feeding the homeless, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and collecting and distributing dental supplies to those in need. Deah translates to light and we keep Deah's light of service alive at the Light House. We operate as a shared space for faith based programs and train youth to lead service projects. Think of it as a really cool shared office space for many local community programs started by youth.
