Lightstreams allows information to flow between applications empowering individuals and organisations to better track, control and monetise their content and intellectual property. Lightstreams does this by using web3 technology so that content (movies, music, documents, blogs, posts, profile information) is only hosted on authorised devices, and synchronised with those that have been approved by the content owner. This differs from today where internet companies host, manage and distributes data on behalf of content owners. Instead, data is separated from the applications that use it creating a paradigm shift in data custodianship and opening up the way for an internet where people can then consume the same content with different applications at the same time. Not only does Lightstreams give greater control to content owners but also enables content to become available to many more apps, giving greater reach and new and improved revenue streams to individuals and businesses.
