Lilian May Studio was founded by watercolour artist, ceramicist and passionate devotee to traditional crafting techniques, Will Dowden. Named after Will's grandmother, the studio is very much a family business with Will's Mum, and fellow passionate ceramicist, Chris adding her knowledge and experience to the creative process. Leo, Will's nephew, is an apprentice carpenter by trade, but also helps on weekends and in the evenings in the creation of our ceramic supplies and paint-making."Lilian May, was the head and heart of our family and her love of family and also appreciation of quality workmanship, honestly made, is the ethos of our small family business." As well as our online store offering plastic-free watercolour paints, and homemade ceramic art supplies, we also offer virtual watercolour tuition sessions to companies for their employees - painting is a fantastic way to de-stress, and relax. It's great for your mental health and wellbeing, and often increases productivity. The feedback we've had from employers about how positive the impact of the session was is really heartwarming for us to hear, and we hope to continue to help other companies wherever we can.
