Linda Belden Studio

Linda Belden's hand-made, flat-woven area rugs are made by a family business in a Zapotec village outside Oaxaca, Mexico, where the weaving tradition is one of the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. The first-rate, lanolin rich wool used in making these exceptionally fine contemporary rugs is hand washed, hand carded, and hand dyed, before weaving. Each rug is individually made to order, in the centuries old tradition of the village. Linda Belden's sophisticated designs are also available in exquisitely made Tibetan 60, 80 and 100 knot rugs, woven in Nepal. These modern carpets can be made with Tibetan, New Zealand, or mixed wool, or with silk, or hemp, also mixed with wool. The family workshop we use has been making the highest quality area rugs for over two decades and adheres to the strictest labor practices.
