Literacy Alberta

Mission: Building Literacy and Essential Skills in Alberta through inspiration, innovation and collaboration. Literacy Alberta is a provincial, non-profit organization working to raise literacy levels in Alberta. • We are a leader in Literacy and Essential Skills, providing training, professional development, tools and resources. • We ignite discussions and debates, bringing literacy to the forefront as a key issue. • We are deeply committed to building a culture of learning in Alberta – where it is a basic right to have the skills needed to fully participate in learning, life and work. • We connect to a pan-Canadian perspective on literacy. Our more than 350 members are active in learning and working in literacy. We also work in partnership with other literacy coalitions and adult learning organizations to raise literacy levels and awareness about literacy across the country.
