Little Cyclist

Little Cyclist is a platform to help children with special needs attain their dream of cycling out in the park, wheezing through the crowd in the outdoor with their bicycle. It aims to enable them to cycle on regular bicycle with training wheels through a system that allows learning and progression to take place anywhere at anytime without the need of a specialist. Cycling incorporates bimanual training in a functional setting to improve coordination, postural control, gross motor function, and cardiovascular fitness. Studies have shown that cycling provides benefit to help combat deconditioning, strengthen the musculature of the hips, knees, and ankles, while also improving cardiopulmonary fitness for children, particularly children with cerebral palsy. In Little Cyclist, we believe that 1) all children has the right to play and enjoy the outdoor; 2) achieving the goal of cycling on a standard bicycle; 3) cycling can be taught by family members and be a fun family activity Service provided by Little Cyclist: 1. Free on site assessment to determine type of bicycle and modifications required 2. Design of modifications required +/- delivery (may include but not limited to a. Bicycle seat with backrest b. Pedal straps c. Resistance mechanism etc) 3. Demonstration of methods to teach your child how to cycle 4. Demonstration on possible progression for your child 5. Cycling lesson - focusing on safety, maneuvering Clause: Attachments and modifications have been carefully selected, designed and tested for safety thus it is recommended to approach staff of the Little Cyclist to handle the assessment for your kid and provide appropriate safe modification for their training. Little Cyclist will not take any responsibility for any injuries or failure of any hardware and modification cause by your attempt to replicate or reproduce similar design/design concept and/or training program.
