Little Portion Farm

Little Portion Farm is a three-acre farm founded in 2019 by the Franciscan Friars Conventual. Until 2017, the land we now farm was leased and cultivated using chemical and industrial methods, so a primary component of our mission is to restore the health of the soil and surrounding ecosystem. We do this not only to care for the earth herself, but as a means to care for those in need. Since 2019, the farm has harvested over pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, all of which are donated to partners in Baltimore who directly serve people affected by food insecurity. Volunteers form the heart of our work, with more than unique individuals helping tend the land and support the farm’s daily work in 2025 alone. We also strive to be a place of reflection and education for our volunteers and the wider community, hosting seed blessings, film screenings, book clubs, retreats, tours, and potluck meals to deepen relationships with one another and the earth.
