Individuals report loneliness, sense of disempowerment, loss of control and self-confidence, and a real feeling of being burdensome. Cancer support in the workplace needs to be developed. This is an issue for all organisations, and it is not going away. The number of working-aged people with cancer is growing and there is evidence that work outcomes, including return to work, are often poor. Through the lived experience of breast cancer, LiveWorkCancer aims to inspire change in the workplace through targeted, practical support of individuals on their cancer journey. By improving support at work for cancer survivors, organisations will improve productivity, an enhance their employee value proposition and protect the investment in people; and it is the right thing to do!
