Llama Pack Project
Llama Pack Project works to recover traditional uses and breeding of carrier llamas as a tool for sustainable rural development and conservation of Andean mountain ecosystems in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Urubamba, Cusco, Peru. The project has developed, in partnership with community members, a responsible tourism service: the Llama Treks. These treks ensure that the project is sustainable and that the three main goals of the project can be developed: 1. Disseminate healthy llama breeding practices amongst high Andean llama breeders, 2. Promote environmental awareness and ecosystem conservation, 3. Imulse social development amongst rural families.
