Local Drums

Initially drawing inspiration from the work of Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Emergent, ‘Local Drums’ seeks to promote local knowledge by providing a platform where users in the developing world can share their story, without the abundant ‘white noise’ and with the support of directed, editorial guidelines. The website will feature stories of local people who can share their knowledge and expertise on a global network delivered by a collaborative of innovative and upcoming reporters. We aim to provide ground-breaking, in-the-field stories of the struggles and successes of local people. We the use these stories to connect our reporters to multinational corporations and international non-governmental organisations. Our vision is to facilitate communication, enhance interconnectedness and empower those struggling with voice poverty.
