Mission: Local Foodies empowers children to make smart choices when they eat by providing them with the academic and physical tools they need to create delicious, healthy and locally produced meals at home and to make healthy eating choices throughout their life. Vision: Local Foodies aims to give students the information and skills needed to navigate the world of food with confidence and expertise as they grow. Through literacy, food tastings and recipe making, our students will become Foodies! Philosophy: Studies show that children develop eating patterns early in life. Local Foodies strives to teach kids the importance of eating healthy, locally grown food from an early age. We hope to educate kids about the food that is served to them in restaurants, cafeterias and even at home. By participating in our program, not only will kids learn all kinds of fun facts about food, but they will learn how to make simple and delicious recipes
