Natural Local Foodways and Healing Traditions in service of creating Resilient Communities. LocaLeaders was established by Uri Mayer-Chissick, a historian, and researcher of local food and medicine traditions. We research the history of traditional foodways and traditional medical methods, aiming to achieve a better understanding of those traditions, and finding out which of their principles and ideas can be effectively used today. Traditions and cultural identity are an important stepping stone for long-lasting relationships in and between our communities. As we search into our past and present, we find ways to build a better tomorrow. Together.
