In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy changed Mr. Leahy’s direction and the world: just two weeks before he founded Locust Advisory, LLC with the intent of helping others succeed. As a result, Mr. Leahy worked with two friends to establish “The Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore”. For the next year and many months, they addressed the home needs of neighbors and the entertainment needs of local children. During this hurricane recovery time, Locust Advisory, LLC began its focus on helping CEOs and others address their goals and establish plans to achieve them. For example, Mr. Leahy and his team assisted a company with evaluating their strengths and ultimately selling their firm. They helped another firm evaluate their business and provide for proper succession planning, relationship management and strategic planning. These two examples have outlined the goal of Locust very clearly to be assisting others to achieve their goals. In addition to collaborations with businesses, Mr. Leahy has helped several community organizations-including Monmouth Park Charity Fund, Boy Scouts of America, and Lunch Break—with fundraising, leadership changes, organizational efforts, helping them succeed long-term. Today with Locust Mr. Leahy continues helping businesses and individuals achieve their goals through smart planning and long-term strategic implementation. Working with lawyers, accountants, bookkeepers, investment advisers, brokers, and other professionals, Mr. Leahy led teams and clients in efforts to balance between taking risks and staying within comfort zones—whether they were acquiring other firms, planning succession strategies, or just reevaluating their operations. Locust Advisory, LLC is registered with the NJ State Board of Accountancy. Mr. Leahy holds memberships in the NJ Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
