Question. Explore. Love. Because a story can make us feel, reflect, doubt, explain, think, convince, dream, change, live and vibrate, question, explore and love. By sharing stories, we can share experiences and connect with realities outside of our own. The capacity of sharing stories gives us the possibility to grow as a person and as a society as a whole. Why are things the way they are? We question the unquestionability of many social norms. Often, things are only because they were chosen to be. In our understanding, society is full of patterns and conventions that have a rational explanation, but that nonetheless are without much sense. We think there is very little recognition for other ways of understanding and feel passionate about discovering alternative stories. Stories that present another perspective on aspects of the failing system of modernity. What makes us different to others then? We want to change the lens of documentary making, because we are conscious of the complexities of each human being. We care about the stories of other people’s experiences, but we don’t want to give a subjective interpretation of the story constrained by our personal experience. We believe everybody is a storyteller and that only the person that lived the experience can properly tell ‘their’ story. We want to be storylisteners, first and foremost, so that we can learn. Afterwards, instead of taking control over their story, we want to collaborate to turn amazing stories into a documentary, so that other people might be able to listen to these stories as well. Hopefully we can get you to question the limits of your reality and to appreciate the diversity of including other people’s realities!
