Los Al Coders Network

This group is dedicated to providing networking opportunities for local coders. Participants represent certifications in AHIMA, ACMCS and AAPC as well as billing organizations. Participants are employed in the inpatient, outpatient, professional, home health, nursing facilities and DME companies. The Los Al Coders Network was started in 2004 and meets every month on the third Friday of the month. You are welcome to attend our meetings and get to know other coders in your community! Recently our meetings have been via Zoom. Since January, 2010 participants have studied ICD-10. We are led in this endeavor by Victoria Menchaca who is an approved AHIMA ICD-10 Trainer. In 2010 our focus was ICD-10-CM. In 2011 our focus was ICD-10-PCS. In 2012 focus was on coding cases using both ICD-10-CM as well as PCS. In 2013 Anatomy and Physiology was reinforced, one system at a time. We are led in this endeavor by Mourad Morkos (medical doctor from Egypt). In 2014 all sessions were dedicated to working through cases and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS coding schemes. Since then we have covered many different specialties and learned practical application to real-life cases. All members are proficient in ICD-10 coding. Thank you for your interest.
