Lou Badger

Lou Badger is an eponymous slow fashion brand for all genders that expresses a reverence for the ancestral sustainability practices of its Designer and Creative Director. Experimental and voluminous silhouettes united with themes of redemption, circularity, and versatility shape the collections. From one-of-one to limited preorder to custom, each piece is made locally with entirely pre-loved materials. Established in 2019 by Lou while working as a 10-year educator in Philadelphia schools, the single-employee brand is in an exciting period of growth following being awarded winner of the inaugural 2021 Amiri Prize, a fashion incubator for undiscovered talent and those on an unconventional path. Each Paulo Redeem design is customized from redeemed (upcycled) materials. Pre-loved items from our wardrobe plus donations from family and friends comprise the elements & design inspiration for our collections, produced only once a large capsule of materials has amassed. Maximized embellishment, functionally surprising, and exaggerated structure influence the design process for each singular garment.
