Over the course of my 15 year career, providing Beauty Services to the masses has been such a blast. but also no easy feet. I’ve watched the trends change year by year, and now with the speed of technology these days. things change month by month. When I first started doing hair + makeup, I was just getting my feet wet in the industry as a Salon Apprentice. I was learning the ropes of what to do and most importantly, what not to do. This was a time when Facebook was first invented. We were not using it as a social business platform like we are now. Instagram and Youtube didn’t even exist yet. The only mentors I had available at my finger tips were the stylists and makeup artists right in front of me. It took months and sometimes years to gain trust and credibility from my fellow peers who had been in the game forever. It was earned. Everything was earned. Eventually, I grew into a full time hairstylist role in one of the top salons in Providence, RI and Boston, MA. I built up a huge clientele and was loving being at the height of my career. But something was missing. I craved something more. I went on to work with MAC Cosmetics for 9 years, developing and managing artists from all over the globe. Traveling with them, working New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week every year, and growing into the best damn Makeup Artist I could be. I then made the decision to step out from behind the chair and away from all my clients so that I could dive-in even further and work in the cut throat corporate world. I became part of a District Management Team for one of the biggest blow dry bars in the nation. Living all throughout Boston, Miami, and New York. A World Traveler. I really thought I had it all. As I look back at it all now, I’m whole heartedly humbled by all of my experiences and wouldn’t change a thing about any of them. I have been blessed to meet my husband, travel to all areas of this magical planet, and to move into a place that I can finally call home.
