LOWTE( Low Temperature Energy) R&D Corporation started during the oil crises in the 70 's to develop Geoexchange for seasonal solar storage. The LOWTE concept was based on special types of Ground Heat Exchangers for bore hole in rock with advantageous thermal performance which in turn implies cost effective seasonal solar energy storage. During that time a one-of ‚a-kind bore hole storage was built and tested. Besides the Geoexchange technology the LOWTE- concept also includes Low Temperature Solar Collectors and Low Temperature Heat Transfer components integrated in the climate shield (building envelope).
