The UK Higher Education is a unique institution and a division of the London School of Leadership, Investment, and Technology that aims to prepare students worldwide for the renowned British and Irish universities. Conventionally, the agencies and consultancies that operate worldwide maintain affiliation with a certain number of universities and represent them to the student communities. So naturally, they tend to favour the universities more than the students. Some often send students without evaluating their merits and career prospects to mediocre institutions that hardly add value to their resumes. As this trend continues to grow, a team of UK/Ireland-educated mentors led by Dr Niaz Chowdhury decided to introduce a model favouring the students. They named it the `Mentorship Programme'. Unlike other agencies with three to five universities at their disposal and that send their students only to those institutions, the student-first model of the Mentorship Programme allows students to pick their universities by discussing with their mentors. At the moment, this programme enables students to choose universities from a list of 40+ institutions that have agreed to this student-first model. UK Higher Education's ultimate goal is to expand the model to all UK-based universities. The primary difference between a regular agency or consultancy and this Mentorship Programme is here a student receives mentoring. They will have the chance to discuss their courses and potential universities with their mentor, who also helps write the statement of purpose, prepare CVs and arrange recommendation letters. This programme enables students to see their prospects before committing to any UK university to pursue higher studies. The programme also allows mentors to recommend and apply for bursaries and scholarships. CAS application and pre-CAS interview preparation are also part of this programme.
