Lukenya University

Lukenya University is a young and ambitious university in East Africa, dedicated to offering a transformative and holistic learning experience for both students and faculty. We offer undergraduate, diploma, and certificate programs designed to nurture academic excellence, innovation, and community service within a vibrant and supportive campus environment. Founded in 2013 as a successor to the renowned Lukenya Schools by the family of the late Hon. Justice Kasanga Mulwa, the University is a privately sponsored institution duly accredited by the Government of Kenya through the Commission for University Education (CUE). In August 2022, Lukenya University was proudly chartered by the former President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, becoming the 60th university to receive this distinguished recognition. Located in Makueni County, along the scenic banks of the Athi River and adjacent to the Tsavo East National Park, our campus provides an inspiring environment for study, research, and innovation — just 270 km from Nairobi and 240 km from Mombasa. Lukenya University is actively engaged in research and community programs focused on climate-smart agriculture, environmental sustainability, and food security in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). These initiatives reflect our commitment to providing real-world solutions to the pressing challenges of our time.
