About Us – LUKMEF Cameroon Founded in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation (LUKMEF–Cameroon) is a nonprofit, non-political organization committed to building a just, peaceful, and dignified society where every person has the opportunity to thrive. Inspired by the values of non-violence and social justice, we work closely with communities to help them lead their own development, rebuild after crises, and create lasting change. For more than 25 years, we have served some of Cameroon’s most vulnerable populations through humanitarian response, peacebuilding, child and women protection, sustainable community development, and civil society strengthening. Our work is rooted in a simple belief: people are not passive beneficiaries— they are partners with knowledge, resilience, and solutions. We walk beside them, listen to their realities, and co-create interventions that restore hope and dignity. Through our programs, LUKMEF supports survivors of violence, empowers women and young people, strengthens community livelihoods, promotes human rights, and delivers lifesaving assistance in conflict-affected areas. Our One-Stop GBV Service Centre, youth peace initiatives, WASH and livelihood projects, civil society capacity building, and community-driven development efforts continue to transform lives across Cameroon. We are accredited by MINAT and work with government institutions, UN agencies, INGOs, local CSOs, and community leaders to ensure that no one is left behind. Our strength lies in meaningful partnerships, transparency, and deep community trust built over decades.
