Lumei was started in the fall of 2014 in the city of Shanghai, China, and recently launched operations in the United States. Lumei provides car buying, car sales, insurance, DMV assistance, shuttle services, legal services, housing services and discounts to partner companies. Lumei is a concierges service for the over Chinese students coming to study in the United States every year. Over 60% of these students are buying a new or used car within their first year in the US, with an average of 1.6 vehicles purchased during their 4 years in the US. Based on a survey of students, the average purchase price of these vehicles is over per year, as compared to $19,500 per year for the US students. These students are outspending their US counterparts on clothing, home goods and electronics by 50%. Through our offices and exclusive partnerships in China, Lumei is able to market these students and their families both while they are in the United States and before they arrive to the United States. Lumei has obtained an exclusive partnership with CITIC bank in China. CITIC bank provides all of the travel visas for Chinese students, business travelers and vacation travelers to the US. With the processing of these travel visas, use of the powerful social media WeChat and hiring local students, Lumei is poised to become the premier concierge for the Chinese Students and travelers.
