As reflected by our credentials, we offer an array of legal services to our diverse clientele. Gary L. Lumsden Gary has been in private practice in the Roanoke Valley for over 30 years. Mr. Lumsden has been consistently voted as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Workers’ Compensation. Mr. Lumsden has tried over 150 criminal and civil jury trials, and is certified as lead counsel in Virginia Capital Murder cases. In addition, Mr. Lumsden has served as a past President of the Criminal Law Section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Lumsden has also represented personal injury clients and obtained individual settlements in excess of C. Shawn Potter Shawn has been with the firm working in various capacities since 2003. Mr. Potter grew up in the Roanoke Valley, and has numerous family ties to the area. He knows and loves Roanoke, and constantly works to improve the Valley and the practice of law. Mr. Potter primarily focuses in the areas of workers compensation, family law, DUI and criminal law. Hilary S. Mariano Hilary joined the firm in 2013 as an associate attorney. Ms. Mariano primarily focuses her practice on workers' compensation, family law, DUI defense and traffic offenses. A graduate of Elon University and the University of South Carolina, Ms. Mariano chose to return to the Blue Ridge Mountains to practice law.
