Lyrebird College

Our school, Lyrebird College, pursues excellence in the education of children aged 5-18 with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. ASD is a lifelong condition that affects 1 in 100 children in Australia. Meaning 1 in 100 families are affected by an ASD. The severity of an ASD differs substantially along various points of its spectrum. Most of our students live with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), requiring high levels of classroom support. Since opening the school three years’ ago, we’ve overcome many challenges, ranging from financial to bureaucratic and operational, and we’ve seen our students succeed beyond our wildest dreams. It is our aim to enrich their lives and those of their families, to help prepare them to be active members of society. We are so proud of them and the work we are privileged to do together.
