M3 Initiative

Never before in the history of the Health and Fitness Industry has there been a time more important for well-thought, compassionate, process-driven, high-performing coaches. Over the last decade, the disciplines of Health Science have evolved and enriched those with a deeper understanding and connection between the organism (individual) and our environment. In turn, incorporating a holistic, evidence-based approach to health and performance has established a stronger baseline of knowledge and practice. So we assume. During this tenure, the growth of social media has reduced the learning experience to short form context-less chunks of information in a specific sub-set topic or category. This has not only hindered larger implications to consider when addressing such topics but has driven a culture that positions the endurance of long-form knowledge taking as a mismanagement of time. Consequently, the area of Health Sciences has then reduced itself into a misnomer of what the public considers to be ‘just Personal Trainers’. Establishing heavy theoretical models without real life practical solutions leads to confusion (the limitations seen in tertiary education). Establishing an attitude around only practical implications without a deeper respect to robust training theories and scientific rigour leads to a lack of informed practice (the limitations seen in Cert and IV).
