I love my job teaching others about the great sport of fly fishing. Fly fishing is a life-long hobby filled with challenges in the beautiful outdoors. We offer fly fishing schools, trout fishing instruction, fly fishing guided trips & fly casting lessons with certified Master Casting Instructors! Swain County is among the last frontiers in the East for epic opportunities with wild trout or Delayed Harvest programs for those new to the sport. When I chose to teach fly fishing for a career upon graduation from Westminster College it was not common in this part of the country in 1987! Now the sport is busting at the seams with folks from all walks of life & careers. The sport has also regressed much in the past 30 years with those that remain self-taught. I can assure you that you will come away with more techniques and tactics in a single day than you have picked up in a lifetime of remaining self-taught. This can remain a FUN learning experience for all! I have taught college programs as Associate Professor at WCU, authored global magazine articles & fly fishing books the past 30 years, certified Master Casting Instructor through the FFI, & I really do love my job teaching others!
