Originally established in 1971 by Bruce Wigney as ‘Wigney & Associates’ the firm set out with a clear focus on helping those in and around the farming town of Riverton and the mid-north of the state with their accounting, tax and financial planning needs. Over time, the firm grew and its client base expanded into other regional areas, as well as into Adelaide. This expansion saw the firm take on additional key staff and management, leading to a restructuring in 1989, and a new name: Macdonald Dunlop. Now, over 50 years after it began, Macdonald Dunlop has grown into one of the most trusted, locally-based, private accounting firms in regional Australia. Our clients can be found on farming properties and in regional towns, remote outback stations, and in the heart of the city. They may be entrepreneurs who are just starting out, businesses that have been passed down from generation to generation, or innovators who are adapting to new markets and expanding into new fields.
