Macroscopia Labs

Macroscopia Labs is a collective of individuals from diverse backgrounds, who create and facilitate interactions for the generation of sustainable solutions to global problems. As a population, we are increasingly confronted with interconnected social and environmental issues that span knowledge cultures, disciplines and value systems. Macroscopia Labs facilitates open-ended inquiries with those working towards resolving these ‘wicked’ problems, which highlight the crucial role of imagination and intuition in addressing the shift to a sustainable future. We create safe spaces for reflexive dialogues to allow for a number of bold propositions to emerge about how we might reconfigure our community of practices. Understanding that learning involves the experience of the learner provides new opportunities for inquiry that does not separate object and subject or place and person and in turn enable people-driven sustainable solutions. In this way, we support communities, individuals and organizations in guiding the design and conduct of their own open-ended inquiries. With this approach, personal and local understanding are combined with academic disciplines in new forms of action research required to recognise multiple knowledge cultures, accept the inevitability of uncertainty, and clarify the participants own and others’ ethical positions.
