MADE Law is often engaged to handle a specific, discreet legal matter such as an employment claim or other legal dispute, an investigation, or a real estate transaction, and these other legal services are discussed in greater detail below. However, at the very core of our mission to help businesses succeed are the general counsel services we provide to small and mid-size companies which typically do not have an internal legal department. Our goal is to provide these businesses—on a very cost-effective basis—with ongoing proactive and high-quality legal services which are typically available only to larger companies having in-house legal counsel. At MADE Law the first thing we do is make sure we clearly understand and appreciate your business, the market you are in, your key competition, and your long and short-term goals. We then typically perform a risk assessment to identify policies and practices that don’t comply with the law or otherwise create financial risk for your business. Once this is accomplished, we work with our clients to develop and implement policies and practices to avoid problems which would be disruptive to your operations and derail achievement of your business objectives. It’s a holistic approach to risk which is all about avoiding surprises and adverse consequences, because the best way to minimize your business’ legal expense is not to hire the best or even the cheapest lawyer to resolve a problem—the best approach is to avoid the problem from ever arising in the first place.
