MAGMA was founded in 1988 in Aachen, Germany. MAGMA now has 9 locations worldwide serving the foundry and die casting industries. Before simulation, the metal casting industry was completely dependent on the experience of foundry experts,"Tribal knowledge" and trial and error when it came to the casting process. Early adapters recognized the revolutionary potential of using software to predict what happens during the casting process to avoid or reduce the need for excessive and costly trials (and errors) on the shop floor. MAGMASOFT® not only predicts the solidification and cooling of a casting but offers solutions for a large diversity of quality determining factors. Most of our engineers have worked in either a foundry or die casting facility.
