A considered, luxury clothing brand centred around sustainability and quality. Magpie Vintage was founded 10 years ago by Alice Lockspeiser. A true vintage enthusiast, Alice started selling vintage clothing at Portobello market, reworking vintage denim on her sewing machine at her stand. It eventually grew to become an established and respected vintage label known for it’s heavily curated, hand selected premium vintage collections ranging from avant garde pieces, 1940’s workwear to 1970's western originals. When 2020 hit and shops in the UK had to close, Alice decided to make the best of a bad situation. She started sourcing vintage quilts, seeing the beauty and potential in these forgotten fabrics. The first collection of Emma oversized jumpsuits was created - all made from vintage quilts. When it launched online it sold out minutes, from then Magpie Vintage ready-to-wear was born. Fast forward a few years and Magpie Vintage is a whole team with a studio in London. Everything we create is completely one of a kind made from vintage textiles, ranging from crochet blankets to tablecloths and even curtains. Every piece is designed, cut, sewn, pressed, packed and shipped from our studio with love and care by our dedicated team. We strive to be as close to zero waste as possible, keeping all of our scraps and turning them into accessories such as collars, hats, and scrunchies.
